2-07 The Reindeer Herder and the Coastal Man
A coastal man left a reindeer herder in the sea on an island.
He went to his wives, to the tundra, and started living there.
The reindeer herder was eating only squirrel and lost a lot of weight.
One day a seagull saw him and asked:
― What has happened to you; why do you live here?
The reindeer herder answered:
A coastal man left me here.
― I’ll help you to get out of here, but don’t go back your home.
Go to the tundra [instead].
The coastal man lived by turns at each of reindeer herder’s wives’ places.
Some of the wives brought reindeer herder meat to the tundra.
[The reindeer herder] was trying to move all the time in order to become strong.
He gained strength and said to the wives:
― I’ll come at night.
We’ll seize the coastal man; you will help me.
He came at night.
The tyrant had no time to get dressed; they carried him outside and hung him.
The end.
